Triumphs at the Loppet!

After some Facebook and Sportstats scanning it looks like there were loads of Triumphers out at the Loppet Winter Events! Congratulations to all of those who got out of the house and participated, contributing to the improvement of their health and fitness. If I missed you, I apologize.

Annemarieke had a lot to smile about! She completed the 27k classic ski coming in 4th and the next day went on to do the 27k skate ski. Now that's endurance. Well done Annemarieke!

LAURENT & SEVAK
Laurent and Sevak are great old friends. Whether on the golf course, the tennis court or on the Gatineau hills, they are all around athletes who enjoy staying fit for all sports while being competitive! They are both teachers and fantastic role models for their students. Sevak is at a CEGEP in Montreal and Laurent at a high school in Ottawa.

CARY AT THE LOPPET 5KM CLASSIC SKI

Congratulations Cary on coming in 2nd at the Loppet. Cary has worked really hard this winter at improving her overall fitness and by the look of that smile and those results it shows!

Fun Fact: Cary was born in the same small town in England as Julia's Mum - King's Lynn. 

 

PATRICIA RUNNING THE 10K SNOWSHOE


Patricia has had a busy few weeks! 2nd at Winterlude triathlon, 3rd in the 51k classic Loppet ski, 2nd at the 10km snowshoe Loppet race, 2nd in the Quebec city winter triathlon! Congratulations Pat, you are an amazing all around athlete!

Little known cool fact: Julia and Pat used to work together on the gym floor at the OAC 25 plus years ago while Pat worked as a high school teacher. 

KIT WINS SILVER AT WINTERMAN HALF MARATHON!


A training run to prepare for Tokyo earned Kit a Silver medal at the Winterman. What a nice surprise!

Scott was also out at the race and came in 2nd overall. Congrats Scott!

 

LISE & KIT AT THE TOKYO MARATHON!

If you're following along the story of Kit's incredible 60th year, I just got the latest update from Tokyo that she and Lise have completed the Tokyo Marathon together! They both decided before the race that their goal was to go out and enjoy this amazing event together with runners from all over the world. These great friends crossed the finish line hand in hand. Congratulations gals! Next stop...Boston!
