Happy Mother's Day

Sunday, May 10th is Mother's Day.

This has me thinking about the incredible women we have in Team Triumph who are amazing mothers, and triathletes.

It’s been said that mothers wear many hats:

·         Law Enforcer
·         Entertainer
·         Handy Women
·         Wrangler
·         Nurse
·         Ring Leader
·         Educator
·         Financial Advisor
·         Chef
·         Maid
·         Leader

·         Chauffeur

So how do our members do it?

How do they manage to work full time, run a household, be a great partner and maintain friendships all while training for triathlons?

It’s not easy. If you’re finding it hard, do not think for one second that you are in that boat alone.

One thing these women have in common is ….STRUCTURE. They put a structured plan together to help them reach their goals.

What does this look like?

1.    Make Yourself a Priority – if you don’t take care of yourself, you can’t take care of others. Every day, we’re presented with new-and-improved research that shows the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. We know that living a healthy lifestyle will give you more energy, improve your efficiency, and reduce your stress. When you go to bed at night, ask yourself what you are going to do the following day to make your healthy lifestyle goals your priority.

2.    Keep the reasons you are choosing to lead a healthy lifestyle at the forefront – on those days that you are feeling like you just want to skip the workout, those reasons will get you out the door. Write down your why now and put it in places you will see every day. Your why will always keep you going.

3.    Think family fitness – if you can’t get out the door on your own, then make it a family affair. Need to fit in a run, get the kids on their bikes so they can ride beside you as you run. Need to be at soccer practice? Run around the field and cheer your child on while fitting in a jog. The ideas are endless. All you have to do is want it.

4.    Know that some days are going to be easier than others – There are going to be days when you’re full of energy and feel like you can do extra. And then there are going to be days where you’re just happy to have put your workout clothes on. No matter what you feel like, on the difficult days make sure that you at least try to get some activity in. We recommend the 15-minute rule – go out and if in 15 minutes you are still not feeling it, then turn back around and head home. By the time you get back, you will have completed 30 minutes of exercise.

5.    Don’t Go At it Alone – this is where joining a club is beneficial. Find a community/tribe that will support you. Fitness and nutrition are more difficult if you have no one to fall back on. The important thing is to find a community that will 100% have your back.

If you are looking for workouts that you can do on your own schedule, please check out our exercise videos [here].  Maybe a one-to-one coach is more what you need so you have a weekly structured schedule and you can be accountable to a coach. You can find out more about our services [here]

Moms, we need you to be healthy and happy! Your partner needs you. Your babies need you. The entire world needs you.

What would life be like without moms? What would life be like for your children without the warm and caring love of their mom? What would life be like for your partner without your love and support for them and the family?

You Can Do this!!!!

To all the mums who are keeping healthy, happy and fit…most days, we salute YOU!! To those who need a little help, we are here to support YOU!
