It's well known that athletes not only like to eat, but they like to talk about eating. Recently during one of our Virtual Cycling Club rides where we converse on discord, the topic of "How do you like your oats" came up.
Not a single one of our members liked their oats the same way. There are even a couple of rebels who will switch their morning oats out for another grain like Quinoa, Buckwheat or Millet. Here we share some of our member's favourite ways to eat their morning cereal.
I like to blend in a little chocolate Athlete's Blend protein which contains all of the Essential Amino Acids we need to power up my workouts, combined with some collagen to protect my joints (available in our store).
I make up 6 containers for the week using a combo of gluten free rolled oats, steel cut oats and chia seeds. When I take my overnight oats out of the fridge in the morning, I add delicious fresh organic berries and then put the bowl in the microwave for a minute to take the chill out. In the Summer I enjoy my overnight oats cold.
Doing meal prep on Sundays allows us to have healthy foods available in the fridge. I usually make up overnight oats and a couple of other meals so I can heat and eat for the rest of the week.
Emily G. combines steel-cut oats, muesli with mixed almonds, cashew plus a teaspoon of brown sugar and pitted dates.
R. El Sadawy adds vanilla protein powder, match tea and frozen mangoes.
Heather C adds protein powder and Chai tea.
Brenda R adds shredded carrots, zucchini or cauliflower plus 1/2 tbsp each of ground chia and flaxseed for her Omega 3/6 and often will switch out oats for buckwheat, quinoa or millet and then add fresh or frozen fruit on top.

A year ago I could only tread water and had not run since childhood. With the amazing Virtual Olympic course, support, guidance, and tips from of all the folks at Team Triumph I've ended the season with my first Olympic distance triathlon under my belt and am hooked! Really looking forward to the 2025 season and even to the hard work over the winter to prepare. Karen Houle
I wanted to let you know that the Perth triathlon was a great experience, I somehow placed third in my age group! What a supportive group of participants (including Team Triumph athletes), cheering bystanders and volunteers.
Thanks to your swim lessons, I learned the technical basics and gained confidence to get back in the pool after decades. And it was really special doing this with Ann Laidlaw, my bestie for many years. We did a couple of additional swims with Kevin and Team Triumph people, also a great way to continue learning and practicing good technical form.
I will continue with lane swimming and who knows, maybe there's another triathlon in my future!
I love the accountability and the structure of the Virtual 70.3 Half Ironman training program. I don't think I would have gotten this far without the program. The accountability is huge for me!
