Gatineau Triathlon, Musselman & Muskoka 70.3!

GATINEAU TRIATHLON
Double Trouble!

AGE IS JUST A NUMBER!

For those of you who don't know these two strong athletes above, meet Sue Bennett and Renee Robert. They are both long-time Team Triumph members and an inspiration to us all to just keep Tri-ing. They both won their age categories at the Gatineau Triathlon. Sue in the (70-74) and Renee (65-70) age group!! Congratulations gals you absolutely rock!!

HERE IS WHAT RENEE HAD TO SAY ABOUT THE RACE...
"It was a great race however a very hot day! My race commenced at 11:30 am. This event consisting of so many categories is among the very best organized triathlons I have attended over the past… 40 years now!"

Another BIG congratulations goes out to France Girard who not only won her age group but has qualified for the world championships in the (60-64) age group!! If there is anyone reading this email thinking that they are too old to Tri, please don't ever give up!! This sport keeps your body active and your spirit youthful.

I think this is also a good time to give kudos to Michael Peirce (59) and his 3 kids (25, 23, 23) who were all active members of Team Triumph before moving out west. They have just completed an epic ride from Salt Spring Island to the Yukon Territories. As if that wasn't enough, they then jumped into canoes and completed a 700km canoe race. Here is an inspiring article from a local media outlet describing their incredible story!

We look forward to sharing your report next week. Joanne Bezzubetz also not only completed the race in the (65-69) age group but placed 3rd on the podium. It was also great to see Anna Belanger take a quick pivot from the planned Tremblant 70.3 race and complete Muskoka!

Congratulations everyone!

IM MUSSELMAN 70.3

Stephanie Johnson-Obaseki took the opportunity to use her Tremblant race fitness and drove to Seneca Lake, New York, for the Musselman triathlon. It was such a joy to track her on the IM app. and watch her race unfold. She very precisely executed the race plan that we had discussed, and it paid off! Congrats Stephanie on a fabulous race!

Here is what Steph reported about the race:

"Ironman 70.3 Musselman was the silver lining for Tremblant’s cancellation.
Beauty course, well organized and amazing vibe. I will be back!"
