Our triathlon team's outdoor season is well underway, and this past weekend was nothing short of remarkable. From empowering runs to challenging bike rides, and even a triumphant half marathon finish, our members showcased their determination and commitment to both personal goals and community support.
Empowering Run for Women
On Saturday, a dedicated group from our team participated in the Run to Empower Women Run demonstrating their strength and resilience. Special congratulations are in order for Ann-Marie Omar, who claimed an impressive 3rd place in her age group, along with Lara Winnemore and Julie Sauvé for their outstanding performances.
Pedalling for a Cause: Supporting CHEO
Sunday brought a different kind of challenge as our members braved the elements to support CHEO on a long bike ride. Battling rain, wind, and cold temperatures, some riders faced overwhelming conditions while others managed to conquer a 70km route. However, adversity struck with mechanical issues, like Kyle's seat post malfunction, and pace challenges that led some to turn around early.
Despite the obstacles, the spirit of solidarity prevailed. As we reflect on the challenges faced by the children and staff at CHEO every day, we're reminded of the purpose behind our efforts. This event wasn't just about the miles ridden; it was about showing support and making a difference. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed through donations.
A special shoutout goes to the brave souls who lined up at the start line on that cold, wet, and windy day:
Triumph in Toronto: Sarv's Half Marathon
In addition to the team's collective achievements, we celebrate individual milestones, such as Sarv's impressive performance at the Toronto Half Marathon. Finishing with a personal best time, Sarv's dedication and hard work in our 70.3 Group Training Program shine brightly. As we look ahead to future challenges, including the upcoming race in Mt. Tremblant, we eagerly anticipate seeing Sarv's smiling face crossing the finish line once again.
This weekend encapsulated the essence of our triathlon team – perseverance, camaraderie, and a commitment to making a positive impact. As we continue our journey together, both on and off the racecourse, let's carry this spirit forward, inspiring others and pushing the boundaries of what's possible.
Congrats to all.

A year ago I could only tread water and had not run since childhood. With the amazing Virtual Olympic course, support, guidance, and tips from of all the folks at Team Triumph I've ended the season with my first Olympic distance triathlon under my belt and am hooked! Really looking forward to the 2025 season and even to the hard work over the winter to prepare. Karen Houle
I wanted to let you know that the Perth triathlon was a great experience, I somehow placed third in my age group! What a supportive group of participants (including Team Triumph athletes), cheering bystanders and volunteers.
Thanks to your swim lessons, I learned the technical basics and gained confidence to get back in the pool after decades. And it was really special doing this with Ann Laidlaw, my bestie for many years. We did a couple of additional swims with Kevin and Team Triumph people, also a great way to continue learning and practicing good technical form.
I will continue with lane swimming and who knows, maybe there's another triathlon in my future!
I love the accountability and the structure of the Virtual 70.3 Half Ironman training program. I don't think I would have gotten this far without the program. The accountability is huge for me!
