Team Triumph Triathlon Club is looking for a Swim Coach for Friday Mornings at 6:30am at the Canterbury Pool from September to June.
Team Triumph Triathlon Club's mission is to build a strong community of members to train and socialise with. We believe in helping each individual athlete improve their technical skills while getting fit and having fun. We are a leading provider of specialized and tailored Triathlon Coaching. By delivering premium support and training for our varied community, we help our members reach their swimming goals. Team Triumph is designed to accommodate beginners to seasoned triathletes, and Try A Tri competitors to Ironman triathletes. With over 100 active male and female members, Team Triumph has become an all inclusive, dynamic club to join.
We are in the business of making people healthy and happy! The journey starts with identifying the athletes' goals and meeting them from where they are at. Our goal is to balance competition and fun knowing that our athletes have a life outside of triathlon. Our coaches see the potential in everyone and enjoy providing the tools to improve while creating an atmosphere of fun during their transformation to becoming skilled athletes. We pride ourselves in making every participant feel welcome and included no matter what level of fitness they are at or their reason for being in our club.
We are looking for a dynamic swim coach who is committed to fulfilling the goal of helping our swimmers improve their stroke so they feel confident stepping up to the start line at the lake. Our low ratio swim practices provide the opportunity to really make a difference in their swimming which is incredibly rewarding to you as a coach. Your job will be to conduct dynamic swim practices to keep our swimmers engaged over the September to June season. Every term you will be given ideas for practices but equally you will have a strong plan of practices ready before the term starts. You will arrive in plenty of time to have your practice written up on the board so that when your swimmers arrive you can greet them with a smile. During our practices coaches will keep a keen eye on the swimmers and provide them with the feedback they need to improve.
The coach will be available for a regular coaching session on Friday mornings at 6:30am at the Canterbury Pool. Coaches will also have the opportunity to conduct private swimming lessons and replace other coaches when they are away or unwell. If your interest also lies in coaching other aspects of triathlon, we will also look to helping you grow as a triathlon coach.
Along with experience in coaching or teaching swimming, coaches can have either their Instructor’s certification, NCCP Swim Coaching 101 or NCCP Triathlon Coaching Community Certification, or a combination of all of the above. A current lifeguarding certification is an asset but not required. Wages will be dependent upon experience and certifications. Benefits include free membership and access to all of Team Triumph’s programs and dynamic community.
