THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS IN SPAIN!
I still remember the day I met France Girard. It was at the Brockville Triathlon ten years ago, where I was coaching some of our athletes. Team Triumpher Monique Beland introduced me to her friend, France, who was taking on her first triathlon without any formal coaching. Naturally, being a coach with a keen eye for details, I couldn't resist giving her a few pointers—especially when it came to tidying up her transition zone!
From that moment, France fell in love with triathlon and quickly became a valued member of Team Triumph. It has been an incredible journey watching her grow as an athlete and forge meaningful friendships along the way. Fast forward to today, and here we are celebrating her incredible achievement: not only qualifying for the World Sprint Championships but representing our country and team with pride at the World Championships in Spain!
France’s Quick Report from Spain:
“The World Triathlon Age Group Championships in Torremolinos, Spain! What an incredible experience to share with 5,000 athletes—young, old, and para—along with my sister Anne. The competition was fierce for the best athletes, but in my case, I made it to the end!
I’m thrilled with the experience, especially since it was my first time competing in the ocean. No panic attacks, no disqualifications, and I got to enjoy the stunning environment! After 15 months since qualifying in Gatineau and thousands of hours of training, I’ve reached the summit of the triathlon journey I began 10 years ago.
I’m incredibly grateful to the tribe at Team Triumph Triathlon Club and to the friends I’ve made along the way. I’m having an amazing time!”
What an accomplishment. Congratulations France.

A year ago I could only tread water and had not run since childhood. With the amazing Virtual Olympic course, support, guidance, and tips from of all the folks at Team Triumph I've ended the season with my first Olympic distance triathlon under my belt and am hooked! Really looking forward to the 2025 season and even to the hard work over the winter to prepare. Karen Houle
I wanted to let you know that the Perth triathlon was a great experience, I somehow placed third in my age group! What a supportive group of participants (including Team Triumph athletes), cheering bystanders and volunteers.
Thanks to your swim lessons, I learned the technical basics and gained confidence to get back in the pool after decades. And it was really special doing this with Ann Laidlaw, my bestie for many years. We did a couple of additional swims with Kevin and Team Triumph people, also a great way to continue learning and practicing good technical form.
I will continue with lane swimming and who knows, maybe there's another triathlon in my future!
I love the accountability and the structure of the Virtual 70.3 Half Ironman training program. I don't think I would have gotten this far without the program. The accountability is huge for me!
